Negambo is only next to Colombo international airport and just 20 min drive from Colombo. Negambo is situated in west coast and a great location to spend a day if you are looking for a quick break on the golden sand before you start your journey. There are plenty of entertaining activities, great pubs and restaurants. Do not forget to visit St Mary’s church, which is one of the oldest churches in Sri Lanka.
Bentota beach is located in southwest coast of the country and very famous for still waters and water sport activities. It has a long sandy strip known as Paradise Island parallel to Bentota lagoon. One of the very attractive and famous beachers among tourist. Don’t forget to book a boat safari along the river to explore country life and wild life such around the river bank.
Hikkaduwa beach is one of the famous beachers in Sri Lanka. Mainly for the coral sanctuary, this located few hundred meters offshore. This beach is ideal for surfing and snorkelling. Unawatuna beach is only 15 minute far from the Galle town where in southern part of the country. If you are thinking of spending a special time with Whales, Mirissa beach is the ideal place for you. Whale watching is a recreational activity you can enjoy by observing whales in their natural habitat. There are plenty of small restaurants along the beach with fresh and rich flavoured sea food with an affordable price for everyone.
If you are looking for a natural swimming area and affordable accommodation away from the city life, Tangalle beach is one of the best tropical beaches among southern part of the country. Cristal clear water and golden sandy beach and old monastery carved into rock are great features around Tangalle.
For you to have a different way of experience, Pasikuda beach is the perfect location to visit. Pasikuda situated eastern part of the country. The turquoise blue water of the bay defenitely attracts you to this beach under the hot sun to surf. If you are looking for the best seafood curries, Pasikuda is the best.
Nilaveli beach is situated in coastal town of Nilaveli, which is about 16 Kilometres North of Trincomalee. This is one of great places you shouldn’t miss when you travel to Anuradhapura – Polonnaruwa. Nilaveli is one of the popular destinations for local and international tourist for its white sandy beach and waves, which is ideal for surfing.
